Good day, I am Madam S. Saaiivalli, founder and caretaker of Pusat Jagaan Saai. The centre is located in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Selangor, I founded this centre on 10th March 2019. Prior to this, I was serving in an orphanage and later joined to this centre, which was then operated by another lady. I served for 1 year before she decided to close it down in 2019. I took the initiative to take over operations of the centre. The centre consists of 20 residents currently. Most of them are disabled, mentally challenged, bedridden, or have had a stroke. In the centre, we provide them with food, shelter, and daily care. In the morning, we will bring those who are mobile out to water the plants. However, most patients here are bedridden, and hence cannot walk. Still, some are able to eat, shower, and take medication by themselves. In case of a medical emergency, we will send them to the clinic, or call an ambulance if necessary. My greatest sense of achievement was about a stroke patient. He was bedridden when he entered the centre. However, he slowly recovered, eventually he was able to walk, talk, and did not need diapers anymore. I do not feel that it is difficult to take care of them. In fact I feel very happy doing this. The centre costs over RM6,000 a month to operate and maintain. My aim is to buy this house and renovate it. So far the owner has given a good offer. Eventually I would like to open a new centre. I am truly grateful to Panda Love Charity for the assistance given!
