Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Xiao Xin (Click Me)

We always believe that making old folks happy will ultimately make ourselves happy too.

Thank you for your interest in knowing more about our centre. I am Y. T. Ong, the person-in-charge for Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Xiao Xin, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. Actually the centre is fairly new. It was only established in 2 May 2019, as I would like to give back to the society by helping needy senior citizens, or those who are disowned by their family. Currently, there are 12 senior citizens housed in the centre, and we are ready to admit more. It is alright if they suffer from the common old-age illness. However, we might review on case-by-case basis if they are infected with chronic diseases. Basically, this is a free-of-charge, normal old folks home, unlike those luxurious nursing homes. The residents here usually spend their days chit chatting, exercise, watch television or taking afternoon nap. Had it not been the raging pandemic, they would be free to hang out in town. For those who are facing mobility issues, our staff will help them to shower. Similarly, our friendly staff will take care of the residents if they are ill. For me, setting up this Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Xiao Xin is definitely my greatest achievement in life so far. Living together with the old folks has allowed me to learn more about the our own life once age catches up. It has certainly helped me to respect my parents even more. Taking care of daily needs of the old folks is actually not that tiring. Things are fine as long as we can communicate with them and let them know about the arrangements. However, there were also residents who were uncooperative. If they refused to cooperate with us, the management had no choice but to transfer them elsewhere. Inclusive of meals, medication as well as salary, the operational expenditure of our centre is around RM 11,000 per month. We are planning to renovate the place, but it is kind of hard to carry out the renovation at the moment due to lack of funds. Thank you Panda Charity for offering the help. Hopefully with this interview, the general public will have a better understanding of us, and will be more willing to support our effort.
