PJ Caring Home (Click Me)

We always believe that making old folks happy will ultimately make ourselves happy too.

Good day everyone, I am Peru, the founder of PJ Caring Home. Our centre was established in June 2000 and is located at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. I was working at another home for around 2 years, but I felt that the way they ran it was not as efficient. Therefore I decided to establish this centre and hope to manage it the right way. Currently, we have 1 home for women and 2 homes for men, with a total of 110 persons with disabilities under our care. Services provided in our centre included nursing care, laundry service, meals, hospital follow-up appointment, and the dispensing of medicines. Prior to the pandemic, we also provided the residents with some outdoor activities, such as Christmas party and a visit to the National Zoo. At the moment, most of the disabled residents are able to handle their daily routines by themselves, such as having meals, taking showers and taking medicine. For those who can’t handle it themselves, we will help them with these daily routines. When any of the residents are not feeling well, if it is serious we will send them to hospital immediately. If their symptoms are mild, we will  monitor their situation for a day first, and send them to the hospital if their situation persists. Many people ask me whether it is difficult to take care of the elderly and persons with disability, or whether I feel any sense of achievement throughout my service here. Actually, all I do is to fulfill their daily needs, such as preparing meals, shelters, and also medication. My greatest sense of achievement comes from seeing them feeling happy and content. Over here in PJ Caring Home, our monthly expenses are about RM70,000 for the running of all 3 homes. The major expenses included wages, food and medication expenses. Currently, we need to repair the shower room. We also plan to purchase our own building to run the homes, so that the residents will have more space for activities and live more comfortably. Last but not least, I would like to urge the general public to help the needy as much as you can. I would also like to express my gratitude to Panda Love Charity for offering the generous help to our charity home.
