Hi everyone, I am Angie from Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Cornerstone, Selangor. Before I start to introduce myself and this organisation, I would like to sincerely thank Panda Love Charity for providing this platform to let more people know about us. I am the founder of Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Cornerstone. I established this centre in 2003 with the purpose to offer a proper home for those children who are neglected by their families. I believe it is our mission to give them love, care and a good education. Our centre is capable of taking up to 30 children. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we haven’t admit any new child for the last 2 years. At the moment, there are only 13 children under our care. As our centre focusses on the mission to help kids who need shelter, food and education, we do not accept adults, Apart from love, care and education, we also provide spiritual guidance and motivation to the children to overcome obstacles and difficulties in life. Similar to other centres, we do not have professional medical staff here, we will take whoever that is not feeling well to the clinic for medical treatment. The centre is run by people passionate about children and believe in treating children nicely. Some may say it is not easy to take care of so many kids here. But we as a team always believe that if we give enough support, right guidance and education to the children, they are able to achieve their dreams in life. I ventured into this line because I love children very much, therefore I would not feel difficult with the current works. My biggest achievement in life is to see them growing up and be independent enough to take care of themselves with the skills and education we provide here. With love and patience, it would not be hard to take care of them. Currently, the centre is struggling to make ends meet. Our monthly expenses are around RM10,000, which mostly involve the utilities, education expenses and bills. We are hoping that someone could give us a piece of land where we can do farming and vegetables growing for us to be self-reliant. Now we are renting a building, and we hope someone could offer us another larger space to run this shelter home. We have been renting for the last 19 years. We urgently need financial support for the home. Last but not least, we would like to express our utmost appreciation to Panda Love Charity for helping us in alleviating our burden. I hope the general public will donate generously to help ensure that we can operate sustainably. We truly cherish your help and contribution.
